Banner headline announces, “THE REAGAN ERA.” “GOP Takes Over Senate as Liberals Swept Out.” “1980 Voters Transform U.S. Politics.” Ronald Reagan smashes incumbent President Jimmy Carter in a landslide of historic proportions. The President picks up at least 43 states according to the latest report, and won the popular vote by over 8,000,000 votes. Swept out of office along with Carter were Senators George McGovern, Frank Church, Birch Bayh, and Jacob Javits.
This is the COMPLETE and original issue from my personal collection and kept in excellent condition since 1980. It’s very scarce, too, as this great newspaper established in the 1850s, went out of business in 1981, making this paper one its last historic issues.
